SEMH Tutor — Buckinghamshire

ASEND Tuition

ASEND tuition supports pupils with Social Emotional and Mental Health needs to continue their learning while they cannot access school or don’t have a school place. We are looking for tutors with SEMH experience to support autistic pupils in Buckinghamshire to assist their learning in a caring and nurturing way.

What ASEND Tuition Is

We are looking for inspirational tutors to support children and young people with SEMH in Buckingham. We support pupils with SEMH who are struggling to attend school, find school too overwhelming to attend, or who are without a suitable school place. We aim to prepare them for a return to mainstream or special school.

We tutor pupils of all ages face-to-face within school times, and in a range of settings including homes, schools, community centres, and out in the community. Our tuition is completely pupil-focused and can follow an academic curriculum, provide emotional support, or develop life skills. We need a wide range of tutors to support our pupils to meet their specific needs and ensure good progress. We work very hard to match each tutor with pupils who can most benefit from their skills and expertise.

We do not require qualified teachers to be tutors; some of our tutors come from psychology, therapy, mental health, or mentoring backgrounds. The main aim is to place someone with our SEMH pupils who can create an understanding, caring, and safe environment for pupils who find it difficult to cope with life’s challenges.

If you think this is not the right role for you, do still apply as we are always on the lookout for people with different expertise to work with our pupils in various locations.
