March 2018

GDPR comes into force on 25 May 2018. Are you ready? You need to be – the rules are changing and we all have to be compliant or face major penalties.

At ASEND, we are making sure that we are fully compliant with the new rules before they come out. We will need to be sure that anyone that we send data to, or receive data from, is also fully compliant. To this end, we are holding a GDPR Q&A session with a specialist solicitor from Lennons Solicitors in Watford, Leah Waller and the Managing Director and Lead Consultant of Selufen, James Stone.

Information and networking evening

Do come along and join us, to make sure that you too are aware of and compliant with the new rules.

All proceeds will go to William’s Fund, a charity helping children with cancer

Send us any questions that you have on the new regulations before the event. We will put all these questions to Leah and James, and we will send out all the answers and GDPR guidance after the event.

We’re delighted to welcome Elena to the ASEND team. Elena only joined us on 22nd January but already it feels as though she has been with us for years.

Her official title is Recruitment and Operations Assistant but she will be turning her hand to all aspects of ASEND business, from recruitment to finance – and keeping Barbara organised! She comes from a background of drama and film production and has worked for the likes of Channel 4 – so she is well used to hard work and tight deadlines. We are all thrilled to have Elena with us.

Barbara has been invited to speak at the London Academies Show, on 25th April at the Excel Centre. Barbara will be speaking on the theme of “Better SEND Outcomes – moving towards SEND efficiencies”, sharing the session with Anita Devi. They will be looking at the impact of High Needs Funding changes, and how to make the best of limited funds.

Come and join us there at the SEND Open Theatre from 1:20pm-2:20pm

Do you know anyone who needs SEND staff? Are you a SEND professional looking for work?

ASEND matches top quality experienced SEND professionals with schools needing their expertise. We don’t consider ourselves a recruitment agency; we are a SEND company, passionate about improving provision for children with additional needs. We understand SEND and have long experience of working in schools and are the only company recruiting to SEN roles whose staff have expertise in children with SEND.  (see more)

Requests for SEN specialists including therapists, psychologists, teachers, teaching assistants and even SEN administrators have risen steadily. We only place people we know to be highly skilled and experienced, and we match people and jobs very carefully.

So, we are always on the lookout for fantastic practitioners to join our team. Currently, we need a number of SEN teaching assistants, a tutor for a young woman with Autism and ADHD, a TA for young children with Attachment Disorder, and Occupational and Speech and Language Therapists – and more!.

Click here for current jobs. Requests are often urgent so please do contact us and register so that you can be considered for any suitable roles as they come in. Our pay is very competitive and we provide training as well as giving personal support.

Please do let us know if you know a school that needs anyone, or if you know someone who might like to work with us.
